Latest 49ers News: Just In Top Experienced San Francisco 49ers Star Decline New Contract Offer And Officially Announced He Wants To Leave

The Miami Dolphins are adding another veteran wide receiver to their already impressive roster, which includes Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Odell Beckham Jr. This move is part of the Dolphins’ efforts to support quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who recently signed a $212 million contract.

The latest addition, Willie Snead IV, had a tumultuous offseason with the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers have faced criticism from several former and current players, including Arik Armstead, Brandon Aiyuk, Kyle Juszczyk, and Willie Snead IV, who have expressed dissatisfaction with the team’s leadership.

The Dolphins announced the signing of Snead and released defensive tackle Mario Kendricks to make room for him. Snead, a nine-year veteran, has played for San Francisco (2022-23), Carolina (2021), Las Vegas (2021), Baltimore (2018-20), and New Orleans (2014-17). He also spent time on Carolina’s practice squad in 2014 after training camp with Cleveland.

Snead has appeared in 103 games with 48 starts, totaling 281 receptions for 3,445 yards and 16 touchdowns. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Cleveland in 2014 and played college football at Ball State.

Snead had openly criticized the 49ers for what he described as an “entitlement” problem within the team, suggesting they did not allow players to compete for their positions. He expressed a desire to join a team that promotes competition for roster spots, and hinted at a preference to play in the AFC North. Following backlash from 49ers fans, Snead deleted his social media account.

Now, Snead joins the Dolphins in the AFC East, where he will face the challenge of securing targets in a crowded receiver lineup under head coach Mike McDaniel.
