Latest Bruins News: Another Bruins Draft pick Officailly Announced His Decision To Leave Boston Bruins On Social Media Today

Loke Johansson, a Swedish defenseman drafted by the Bruins in the sixth round of the 2024 NHL Draft, is making a significant move closer to Boston. Johansson is relocating from Stockholm to play in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) for the Moncton Wildcats.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing 195 pounds, Johansson was selected 186th overall by the Bruins. He was a first-round pick in the QMJHL draft and participated in the Bruins’ development camp shortly after the draft.

Johansson expressed his aspirations, saying, “I hope to play here, develop, and one day play in Boston.”

Wildcats coach Gardiner MacDougall praised Johansson, stating, “We’re excited to add Loke to our team. He will be a valuable addition to our organization.

His hardnosed two-way play, great mobility, and effectiveness in all three zones will make him a challenging opponent. We believe Moncton and the QMJHL will provide him with an excellent environment to advance his game.”

Johansson may also take part in the 2024 Prospects Challenge in Buffalo, New York, scheduled from September 13-16, though the official roster for the event has not yet been announced.
