Sad News: Just In Another Top Detroit Tigers Star Confirm He Want To Leave

ESPN reporter Jeff Passan reports that the Texas Rangers have added left-hand relief pitcher Andrew Chafin from the Detroit Tigers to strengthen their bullpen. Pitchers Chase Lee (left) and Joseph Montalvo (right), who are both now in the minor levels, were traded by the Rangers. After finishing his collegiate career with the Alabama Crimson Tide, Lee, 25, was selected by the Rangers with the second choice in the sixth round of the 2021 MLB Draft. In 11 outings with the Arizona Complex League, he is 1-0 with a 1.93 ERA. For High-A Hickory, Montalvo, 22, is 4-2 with a 2.44 ERA in 13 starts. He was selected with the 584th overall choice in the 2021 MLB Draft by Central Pointe Christian Academy, a Kissimmee, Florida, high school.

This season, Chafin, 34, is 3-2 with a 3.16 ERA in one save attempt. Born and reared in Wakeman, Ohio, he completed his high school baseball career there before deciding to play collegiate ball at Kent State. In the 2011 MLB Draft, the Arizona Diamondbacks, the same organization he made his MLB debut for in 2014, selected him with the 43rd overall choice. Before being transferred around the league to play for the Chicago Cubs, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, and the Tigers—his final stop before joining the Rangers—Chafin spent the first six years of his Major League Baseball career with the Diamondbacks.
