Latest News: Bulls 2024 NBA free agency grades for every signing

This summer, the Bulls have made a few significant acquisitions.
The Chicago Bulls’ top office made it plain that they realized adjustments had to be made after the team concluded yet another forgettable season in April. Although not much has transpired in the offseason thus far, Chicago promised to make moves, and they did. Even while not all of them have been embraced by the fan base, it is encouraging to see that the front office is making an effort to adapt. That’s something that Bulls supporters have long desired.
This Bulls club has added a few new players thus far, but there will probably be more adjustments done before the regular season begins. Additionally, they lost a few players. The Bulls lost Alex Caruso and DeMar DeRozan, but they gained Josh Giddey, Jalen Smith, and Chris Duarte. Patrick Williams was also re-signed by the Bulls. The decisions Chicago has made this summer are ranked as follows:
Giddey Josh Trade of Alex Caruso
This upset a lot of Bulls supporters. It was expected that Chicago would send Alex Caruso packing in a trade, but it surprised them to only receive Josh Giddey in exchange. Although Giddey is much younger than Caruso and the Bulls are constructing a young squad, he actually lacks any of the offensive skills they are seeking.
Getting Jalen Smith signed
The Bulls appear to stand to gain a great deal from this pickup. Jalen Smith is going to be a crucial element of the Bulls’ young core, and he will fit right in with them. Chicago needs him to improve on his greatest three-point shooting year, in which he shot 42% from beyond the arc. In addition, he is large and athletic. Excellent win for the Bulls.
Re-signing Patrick Williams

This is another maneuver that raises some questions. The Bulls clearly still believe in their former fourth-round choice, but injuries have also prevented him from making any progress in Chicago thus far. In five years, we may look back on this as a poor decision.
DeMar DeRozan Chris Duarte exchanged

DeMar DeRozan was traded to the Sacramento Kings, while Chris Duarte was acquired by the Bulls. Cash and two second-round draft selections were also included in the deal. This one is difficult. DeRozan led the team’s youthful core admirably and was the best player on the Bulls in the previous year. Although they did have some room to recruit more youthful players with this move, he might have been a nice mentor to have around. Although DeRozan is growing older and wouldn’t be around for very long, Bulls supporters find it difficult to let him go.
Observing how the Bulls spend the remainder of this offseason will be interesting. The squad is still full of unknowns, and Zach LaVine and Lonzo Ball are two of the most significant ones. Whether those two men will still be in Chicago come regular season time is a question that everyone has. The Bulls still have a lot of decisions to make and a lot of offseason remaining.
