**Arthur Kaluma Joins Texas Longhorns After Impressive College Career**

Arthur Kaluma has signed an Athletic Scholarship Agreement to play basketball for the University of Texas, as announced by head coach Rodney Terry. Kaluma, who spent last season at Kansas State University and the previous two years at Creighton University, will join the Longhorns for the 2024-25 season.

Standing 6-7 and weighing 225 pounds, Kaluma hails from Glendale, Arizona. Over the past three seasons, he has played in 101 games (99 starts), accumulating 1,233 points (12.2 ppg) and 619 rebounds (6.1 rpg) in 3,055 minutes (30.2 mpg). He has shot 43.1% from the field and 72.8% from the free throw line. Kaluma has scored in double figures 68 times, including ten games with 20 or more points, and has posted eight career double-doubles.

In the 2023-24 season at Kansas State, Kaluma played 33 games (32 starts), leading the team in rebounds (7.0 rpg) and ranking third in scoring (14.4 ppg), assists (67), steals (27), and minutes (34.5 mpg). He helped the Wildcats achieve a 19-15 record and advance to the NIT First Round. Kaluma earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors and was named Big 12 Player of the Week and USBWA National Player of the Week. His standout performance included a career-high 28 points and 10 rebounds in a game against BYU.

 

During his sophomore year at Creighton (2022-23), Kaluma started all 37 games, contributing significantly in rebounds (6.0 rpg), blocked shots (21), assists (61), and scoring (11.8 ppg). He helped the Bluejays reach the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. Kaluma recorded 27 points in a game against BYU and 14 points with a career-high 16 rebounds at No. 4 Connecticut.

As a freshman at Creighton (2021-22), Kaluma played in 31 games (30 starts), helping the Bluejays to a 23-12 record and a spot in the NCAA Tournament Round of 32. He was named to the BIG EAST All-Freshman and All-Tournament teams and received BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors twice. He averaged 10.4 points and 5.4 rebounds per game.

Kaluma attended Dream City Christian in Glendale, Arizona for his senior year of high school, where he was a consensus top-50 recruit. He averaged 24.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game during his senior season, including a high of 40 points in a game against Tennessee Prep. Prior to Dream City, he was at Universal Academy in Irving, Texas.
