The Vancouver Canucks have signed goaltender Arturs Silovs to a two-year contract. Silovs, 23, had a solid performance in the 2023-24 season, going 3-0-1 with a 2.47 goals-against average and an .881 save percentage with the Canucks. He also played 34 games with their AHL affiliate, Abbotsford, posting a 16-11-6 record, a 2.74 GAA, and a .907 save percentage.

Canucks general manager Patrick Allvin praised Silovs for his contributions last year and expressed confidence in his continued development. “Arturs was a valuable asset for us when needed, and we anticipate him competing for a full-time spot during training camp.

We will support him in refining his skills and equipping him for further progress in his career,” Allvin stated.

While the specific terms of the contract were not revealed, reports suggest it has an average annual value of $850,000. Silovs, who was drafted by Vancouver in the sixth round of the 2019 NHL Draft, made his NHL debut in the 2022-23 season, finishing with a 3-2-0 record, a 2.75 GAA, and a .908 save percentage.
