The Dallas Mavericks have signed Spencer Dinwiddie to a one-year contract. Dinwiddie, who averaged 17.1 points, 4.9 assists, and 3.1 rebounds over 76 games with the Mavericks during the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, played a crucial role in their run to the 2022 Western Conference Finals.
Dallas Mavericks General Manager Nico Harrison expressed enthusiasm about Dinwiddie’s return, highlighting his experience, energy, and versatility. “Spencer is a valuable addition who understands our goals and enhances our depth at the guard position. His contributions position us well for the upcoming season,” Harrison said.
Last season, Dinwiddie played in 76 games across three teams: 48 with the Brooklyn Nets, 28 with the Los Angeles Lakers, and started 52 of those games. With the Nets, he averaged 12.6 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.0 assists before being traded to the Toronto Raptors and subsequently waived on February 4. After joining the Lakers, he averaged 6.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 2.4 assists for the remainder of the 2023-24 season.
Dinwiddie will wear jersey number 26 for the Mavericks.
