Sullivan had been sidelined for about a week due to a quad injury.

Stephen Sullivan, who was drafted in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks, has a history with several key figures in the Panthers’ organization. He first crossed paths with Panthers president of football operations and general manager Dan Morgan, as well as head coach Dave Canales, during his time with Seattle. The Louisiana State University alum stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 245 pounds, showcasing his potential as a pass-catching tight end.

Sullivan has been with the Panthers for the past three seasons, contributing to the team with 14 receptions and 171 receiving yards across 28 games. His release marks another shift in the Panthers’ roster as they continue to evaluate their options and make adjustments to their lineup ahead of the upcoming NFL season.
