**Phillip Wright Commits to LSU, Joining Top Recruiting Class**
LSU has bolstered its recruiting efforts with the addition of three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright III from Destrehan, who recently announced his commitment to the Tigers. This brings LSU’s 2025 recruiting class to 21 total commits and adds Wright as the third wide receiver, joining Derek Meadows and TaRon Francis.
Despite being ranked as a three-star prospect, Wright has garnered interest from top programs. He was previously committed to Michigan but decommitted last week, and he also holds an offer from Georgia. Standing at 5’11” and 175 pounds, Wright is ranked as the No.
69 receiver in the 2025 class and the No. 12 player in Louisiana. Known for his impressive speed, he has a 4.32-second 40-yard dash and a 10.46-second 100-meter dash time, with an additional track offer from LSU.
Wright shared with On3 that his visit to LSU was positive, noting the importance of the track offer and his interest in competing at a high level. He expressed enthusiasm about the prospect of joining LSU’s track program as well as their football team.
In addition to Wright’s commitment, LSU also secured a commitment from four-star safety CJ Jimcoily from Nashville. Jimcoily chose LSU over Alabama, Tennessee, and Stanford. He highlighted the familial atmosphere of the LSU program and the personal connections he felt, influenced by LSU safeties coach Jake Olsen and former LSU safety Jacoby Stevens.
With these recent commitments, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class remains highly ranked at No. 3 nationally, behind only Ohio State and Alabama.
