**Mike McDaniel Offers Injury Update on Starting Center **
The Miami Dolphins do not anticipate their starting center, Aaron Brewer, being out for an extended period. Brewer left Wednesday’s joint practice with the Atlanta Falcons early due to a hand injury, but the Dolphins remain optimistic about his availability.
“It’s likely to be a week-to-week situation, so we feel positive about his recovery,” coach Mike McDaniel said after Friday’s game.
Brewer, who joined the Dolphins early in free agency, was signed to a three-year contract to take on the starting center role. Previously a left guard, Brewer transitioned to center last season, starting 17 games.
In Brewer’s absence, former UTEP center Andrew Meyer is listed as the backup on Miami’s initial 90-man roster, with journeyman Sean Harlow, who was signed last week, also available. Starting right guard Liam Eichenberg was seen practicing snapping the ball as well.
“It’s better to address this now rather than in Week 10,” McDaniel noted. “While we’d prefer not to have these issues, it’s part of the reality. It will require additional effort from some players to ensure coordination, but we’re used to these situations.”
McDaniel was also asked about Isaiah Wynn, who re-signed with the Dolphins on a one-year contract but has been sidelined since suffering a quadriceps injury in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles.
“To be honest, there’s no new update at the moment,” McDaniel said. “He’s working hard, but the timeline remains uncertain. I’ll provide more information when he’s close to returning to the field. We’ll revisit this on Monday.”
