**Florida Panthers Sign Forward Jesper Boqvist to One-Year Deal**

SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Zito announced today that the team has reached an agreement with forward Jesper Boqvist on a one-year contract.

“Jesper is a talented and agile forward with excellent skating skills,” Zito stated. “His signing will enhance our depth for the upcoming season.”

Boqvist, 25, played 47 games with the Boston Bruins in the 2023-24 season, tallying 14 points (6 goals, 8 assists) and a plus-14 rating. Additionally, he appeared in 31 games for Boston’s AHL affiliate, the Providence Bruins, where he recorded 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) and a plus-10 rating.

Standing 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighing 184 pounds, Boqvist hails from Falun, Sweden. He has played 236 NHL games with Boston and the New Jersey Devils, accumulating 69 points (34 goals, 35 assists). He reached the 10-goal mark in consecutive seasons with New Jersey from 2021-22 to 2022-23.

 

Before joining North American leagues, Boqvist spent four seasons in the Swedish Hockey League with Brynäs IF, amassing 55 points (16 goals, 39 assists) in 98 games.

On the international stage, Boqvist earned silver medals with Sweden at the 2018 IIHF U20 World Junior Championship, the 2016 IIHF U18 World Championship, and the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial tournament.

Boqvist was drafted by the New Jersey Devils in the second round (36th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft.
