Done Deal: Just In Houston Astros Officially Claim Right-Handed Pitcher After Been Release From Current Team Due To Contract Dispute

**Astros Claim Right-Handed Pitcher Janson Junk from Brewers**

The Houston Astros have acquired right-handed pitcher Janson Junk, claiming him off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Junk, 28, had a brief stint with the Brewers this season, appearing in five relief games where he posted a 6.75 ERA. At Triple-A Nashville, however, he demonstrated more promise, holding a 2.55 ERA with a 3-3 record over 18 appearances, which included three starts.

Throughout his major league career, Junk has appeared in 14 games, recording a 1-3 record with a 5.18 ERA. His MLB experience includes time with the Los Angeles Angels from 2021 to 2022 and the Brewers during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In his major league appearances, he has made a total of seven starts.

The addition of Junk to the Astros’ roster adds depth to their pitching staff. With a stronger performance in the minors, Junk’s potential contributions to the Astros could be valuable as they continue their pursuit in the current season.
