Done Deal: New York Rangers Avoid Arbitration, And Re-Sign Another Top Experienced Superstar

**New York Rangers Re-sign  to One-Year Deal**

On Tuesday, the New York Rangers sidestepped arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract with defenseman Ryan Lindgren.

At 26 years old, Lindgren has emerged as a key player for the Rangers, frequently playing on the top defensive pair alongside Adam Fox, the 2021 Norris Trophy winner. Last season, he averaged more than 19 minutes of ice time per game and saw that number rise to over 20 minutes during the playoffs.

The Minnesota native could become an unrestricted free agent next summer if he and the Rangers do not finalize a contract extension before July 1.

Lindgren has accumulated 376 games across both the NHL regular season and playoffs since being drafted 49th overall by the Boston Bruins in 2016. The Rangers acquired him from Boston in 2018, and he has spent his entire NHL career with New York.
