Breaking: Another Top Experienced Edmonton Oilers Star Officially Requested Trade And Sign With Ottawa Senators

The Ottawa Senators have traded forward Roby Jarventie and a 2025 fourth-round draft pick to the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for forwards Xavier Bourgault and Jake Chiasson, as announced by both teams on Monday.

Xavier Bourgault, from L’Islet, Quebec, just finished his second professional season with the Oilers organization. He spent the entire season with their AHL team, the Bakersfield Condors, where he tallied 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) in 55 regular-season games.

 

Jake Chiasson, originally from Abbotsford, British Columbia, played the majority of his 69 regular-season games with the Fort Wayne Komets, Edmonton’s ECHL affiliate, scoring 20 points (nine goals, 11 assists). He also played one game with Bakersfield in the AHL but did not record any points.

Roby Jarventie, who is 21 years old, was selected by the Senators in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. He played seven games for Ottawa last season, contributing one assist.
