Official Braves News: Braves Finally Reached Agreement To Sign Two-Time All-Star When 2024 Season Ends

The Atlanta Braves, known for having one of the strongest rosters in baseball, have faced numerous injuries during the 2024 season, leading to a disappointing overall performance. Although the team had high expectations, these injuries have significantly reduced their chances of winning the World Series. However, the Braves are expected to remain a top contender in the league next year and could once again challenge for the title.

A key decision the Braves will face is the future of their All-Star starter, Max Fried. Fried, a two-time All-Star, has established himself as the team’s ace but will become a free agent at the end of the season. While it is uncertain what will happen, Michael Brakebill of FanSided predicts that Fried will re-sign with Atlanta.

Brakebill notes that the Braves’ 2024 campaign took a severe hit after losing key players like Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr. early in the season. Despite these setbacks, the Braves’ starting rotation has remained a strength. With Strider expected to return next season, re-signing Fried would solidify the rotation, which would also include Chris Sale and Reynaldo López. A healthy Braves squad could pose a serious challenge to the Philadelphia Phillies for the American League East title, leading Brakebill to predict that Atlanta will aim to “run it back” in 2025.

If the Braves manage to retain Fried, it would greatly enhance their chances of winning the World Series next season.
