Breaking: Green Bay Packers Officially Announced The Departure Of Another Top Experienced Fans Favorite Star

The Green Bay Packers saw several of their 2023 players move to new teams for the 2024 NFL season. Among the most notable departures were running back Aaron Jones, who joined the Minnesota Vikings, and former All-Pro linebacker De’Vondre Campbell, who signed with the San Francisco 49ers. Other former Packers players, including Darnell Savage and Rudy Ford (Jacksonville Jaguars), Jon Runyan Jr. (New York Giants), Yosh Nijman (Carolina Panthers), and Jonathan Owens (Chicago Bears), also found new teams.

On Monday night, another former Packers player, linebacker Justin Hollins, signed with the Washington Commanders. Although the contract details have not been disclosed, the Commanders confirmed the signing on their website. Hollins was initially acquired by the Packers in 2022 after being released mid-season by the Los Angeles Rams, with whom he won a Super Bowl. Green Bay re-signed him for the start of the 2023 season but released him after just four games.

Following his release, Hollins briefly played one game for the New York Giants before being released again. He was then signed by the Los Angeles Chargers, where he played seven games in 2023. Over his time with the Packers, Hollins appeared in 10 games, recording 2.5 sacks and 18 tackles.

Hollins is now playing for his sixth team in six years. He started his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, who drafted him in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. After one season with the Broncos, during which he recorded one sack and 21 tackles, Hollins was waived just before the 2020 season and signed with the Rams. In his first season with Los Angeles, he played all 16 games, achieving 3.0 sacks and 28 tackles.

An injury limited Hollins to eight games in 2021, where he recorded 2.0 sacks and 21 tackles. In 2022, he was released by the Rams after 10 games, during which he had no sacks and 26 tackles. He then joined the Packers, adding 2.5 sacks and nine tackles in six games. Last year, Hollins played for three teams in 12 games, recording one sack and 17 tackles as he moved between teams.

Hollins now hopes to secure a more stable role and consistent playing time with Washington.
