Breaking: Texas Longhorns Faces Another Huge Setbacks As Top Talented Highly Rated 5-Star CB Decommits From Football Team And Join SEC Rivals

LSU recently secured a major recruiting win by flipping four-star cornerback Kade Phillips from Texas. This comes shortly after head coach Brian Kelly added a three-star tight end to the team. Phillips, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound cornerback from Hightower High School in Missouri City, Texas, is now part of LSU’s 2025 recruiting class.

The Fort Bend Hightower Hurricanes, where Phillips plays, are looking to build on last year’s strong 12-2 record as they kick off the new season against Clear Falls.

Phillips is the 24th commitment in LSU’s 2025 class and joins five-star cornerback DJ Pickett from Zephyrhills, Florida, as the second cornerback in the group. LSU’s 2025 recruiting class currently ranks third nationally, behind only Ohio State and Alabama.

In recent years, Kelly has relied on the transfer portal to bolster his secondary, but it seems he is now focusing on high school recruits to strengthen the defense.
