The Detroit Lions announced on Wednesday that they have signed cornerback Javelin Guidry and waived safety Morice Norris due to an injury. If Norris clears waivers on Thursday, he will be placed on the team’s injured reserve list.
Guidry, 26, went undrafted out of Utah in 2020 and initially signed with the New York Jets as a rookie. After being waived in the preseason, the Arizona Cardinals claimed him, but he was later cut and added to their practice squad.
The Las Vegas Raiders then claimed Guidry off the practice squad, and he later had short stints with the Philadelphia Eagles and Atlanta Falcons.
Last year, the Falcons waived Guidry, and he was picked up by the Jets again, but he ended up on injured reserve. In 2022, he played in four games for the Raiders but did not record any statistics.
