**Miami Dolphins Release Veteran Amid Roster Changes on Monday**
The Miami Dolphins made several roster moves on Monday, resulting in the release of veteran running back Salvon Ahmed.
Ahmed’s release was part of a flurry of transactions that included the addition of four new players: RB Anthony McFarland, LB Dequan Jackson, RB Zander Horvath, and WR Jadon Janke. Additionally, OL Sean Harlow and WR Willie Snead IV were placed on the reserve/injured list, and LB Zeke Vandenburgh was waived/injured.
During training camp and the preseason, Ahmed struggled to make an impact, partly due to a foot injury that limited his participation and placed him on the active/non-football injury list at the start of camp.
With Jaylen Wright and Chris Brooks emerging as strong options alongside Jeff Wilson Jr., Raheem Mostert, and De’Von Achane, Ahmed faced an uphill battle to secure a spot on the roster.
Ahmed, who joined the Dolphins in 2020 after being claimed off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers, played in 38 games for Miami from 2020 to 2023. Over his career, he recorded 593 rushing yards on 163 attempts with five rushing touchdowns and added 40 receptions for 274 yards and one touchdown.
His standout performance came in 2020 against the New England Patriots, where he rushed 23 times for 122 yards and a touchdown, helping the Dolphins secure a 22-12 victory.
