The Eagles have started trimming their roster to meet the league’s 53-player limit by releasing four veterans:
– **QB Will Grier**
– **DB Parry Nickerson**
– **OLB Julian Okwara**
– **OL Max Scharping**
All teams must finalize their rosters by 4 PM on Tuesday.
Grier, who was the fourth quarterback during Training Camp and the preseason, is a former third-round pick who has played under Offensive Coordinator Kellen Moore in both Dallas and Los Angeles.
Nickerson, an experienced defensive back, played in the slot and previously worked with Defensive Coordinator Vic Fangio in Miami last season.
Okwara, another former third-round pick, served as an edge rusher in Fangio’s defense during Training Camp and the preseason. He has played in 38 games, including four starts, over four years with the Lions.
Scharping, a former second-round pick by the Texans, joined the Eagles in June. He started 33 games for Houston before spending the last two seasons with the Bengals. Scharping started at left tackle in the preseason finale against the Vikings.
