Good News: Just In Another Top Talented Highly Rated 5-Star Commits To Texas Longhorn Football Over Auburn Tigers, LSU And FSU

Texas football continues to dominate the recruiting trail as the 2024 season nears, securing a commitment from five-star wide receiver Jaime Ffrench on Friday morning. Ffrench’s decision to join the Longhorns marks a major win for Texas’ 2025 recruiting class, coming just a day before their 2024 season opener against Colorado State. Ffrench, who chose Texas over Miami, LSU, and Tennessee, is the third five-star recruit to commit to the Longhorns in August.

He follows safety Jonah Williams and wide receiver Kaliq Lockett, both highly regarded prospects from Texas high schools.

In an interview with 247Sports’ Tom Loy, Ffrench expressed his firm commitment to Texas, stating, “Oh yeah, it’s 110% done, Texas all the way. No more visits. Only visits are to Texas.”

Ffrench, who attends Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida, is ranked as the No. 25 overall prospect and the No. 4 wide receiver in the 2025 class. Alongside Lockett, who is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver, Texas is one of only two schools, along with Oregon, to have commitments from two top-10 wide receivers in this class.

This marks the second consecutive recruiting class in which Texas has secured a five-star wide receiver and the third straight class in which they have landed a top-10 player at the position. Ryan Wingo, the No. 32 prospect nationally in the 2024 class, had a strong offseason with Texas and could see immediate playing time as a true freshman.

Ffrench’s high school coach, Tony Bullock, praised his talent, telling Horns247’s Hank South that Ffrench is “one of one” and a natural pass catcher, a rare quality in football.
