NBA expert Marc Stein claims that the Dallas Mavericks have not yet completed their roster. Numerous low-risk, high-reward free agents are available if Dallas is ready to cut a present player. Stein firmly believes that the Mavericks will sign one free agent back, which will put pressure on the front management to make a supposedly simple roster decision. “I would be stunned if Markieff Morris wasn’t on this team on opening night,” asserted Stein, citing the DLLS Mavs writer. Over the past two seasons, Morris has participated in 34 games with the Mavericks. In the trade for Kyrie Irving during the 2022–2023 season, the Mavericks acquired the seasoned forward. The veteran has since established a solid name for himself as a bench captain. Morris is presently a free agent, although he has a good chance of joining the Mavericks squad prior to the 2024–25 season’s first game.
Stein even went so far as to liken Morris to a former Miami Heat player. “I’ve said it all along: he’s the Mavericks’ Udonis Haslem in Miami.
