Sad News: Just In LSU running back Mickey Joseph moves to Grambling State Due To.

According to Ruston Leader Sports Editor Matt Belinson, former LSU running back Tre Bradford has transferred to Grambling State University, where he will join Mickey Joseph for the next campaign. Before their season opener on Saturday against Louisiana Lafayette, Grambling State added Bradford to the roster, according to a tweet from Belinson on August 27. Bradford, a former four-star prospect, appeared in seven Tigers games over the course of three seasons.

Bradford’s transfer at Grambling State brings him back together with Mickey Joseph, a former LSU assistant coach. On Saturday, Bradford and Joseph both make their Grambling State debuts—but against a different team of Tigers.

With Tre Bradford on the football field, Mickey Joseph’s coaching debut will be much easier. Bradford lit up the stat sheet during his high school career en route to earning a four-star rating. Bradford earned national recognition and All-District honours while his team finished the year 11-2 with a district championship as a senior, rushing for over 1,500 yards and 23 touchdowns for Lancaster High School.

The incredibly gifted running back hasn’t yet established himself in the collegiate levels, though. Bradford ran for 58 yards on 10 rushes in five games after enrolling at LSU in 2020. That year, he also scored his first touchdown as a college player on a 12-yard reception. Bradford briefly worked for Oklahoma before going back to LSU in 2022 and remaining there until transferring to Grambling State. Bradford gave LSU a total of 70 rushing yards on 16 carries and two scores.
