Breaking: Kansas City Chiefs Officially Waive Another Top Experienced Fans Favorite Superstar Patrick Mahomes Best Friend

The Kansas City Chiefs released cornerback Nic Jones, a 2023 seventh-round draft pick, on Wednesday as the team continues to adjust its 53-man roster.

According to the team’s transaction log, Jones was released after the Chiefs claimed defensive back Eric Scott off waivers. Jones appeared in nine games during his rookie season with the Chiefs, recording four tackles. Despite showing potential during training camp last year, Jones struggled to secure a spot among the many young defensive backs vying for limited positions in the secondary.

Selected 250th overall in the draft, the 6-foot, 185-pound cornerback was known for his impressive ball skills and versatility, capable of playing both inside and outside on defense. He also made a strong impression as a special teams player, which initially caught Kansas City’s attention.

Chiefs general manager Brett Veach has managed to retain several players cut recently by adding them to the practice squad. The roster is still in flux as the team looks to finalize its personnel ahead of Week 1 against the Baltimore Ravens.
