Done Deal: Just In Kansas State Wildcats Football Land Another 5-Star DL Over Alabama And Auburn Tigers To The Class Of 2025

Kansas State has secured a commitment from Brad Stanyer, a promising defensive end from Texas, for their 2025 recruiting class. Stanyer, a standout player from Grapevine High School in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, committed to the Wildcats shortly after his official visit for the season opener against UT-Martin.

Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 240 pounds, Stanyer is considered an underrated talent in Texas’ 5A classification. Kansas State views his commitment as a significant steal, given his potential on the defensive line. Despite being overlooked by some, Stanyer received scholarship offers from Air Force, Army, and Texas State at the FBS level. His performance at Kansas State’s Elite Camp on June 23rd impressed defensive line coach Buddy Wyatt and others, which eventually led to a scholarship offer after about a month.

Kansas State’s coaching staff, led by Chris Klieman, quickly organized a memorable weekend visit to Manhattan, often referred to as the “Little Apple,” to further woo Stanyer before his senior season highlights began circulating among colleges. Stanyer described his game day experience at Bill Snyder Family Stadium as unlike anything he had experienced before, emphasizing the strong sense of community and camaraderie among the players.

Familiar with playing in an odd-man front from his time with the Grapevine Mustangs, Stanyer adds depth to a Kansas State class that already includes another local edge rusher, Dalton Knapp, who also attended Grapevine High before transferring to All Saints Episcopal. Stanyer is known for his balanced ability to rush the passer and defend against the run. Despite being unrated by recruiting services, he displays good agility for his size, along with notable power and room for further development both physically and mentally. His commitment is seen as a high-potential addition rather than a developmental project.

Stanyer fills one of the last two scholarship spots available for Kansas State following the departures of seniors Brendan Mott and Cody Stufflebean. The Wildcats’ coaching staff sees similarities between Stanyer and recent recruit Ryan Davis, who made an impressive debut with 14 snaps while Stanyer was in attendance.

With Stanyer’s commitment, Kansas State’s 2025 recruiting class now totals 18 players. Once Stanyer receives a rating from 247Sports and other recruiting analysts, the class is expected to remain among the nation’s top 50.
