Official Packers News: Green Bay Packers In Talk To Sign Top Experienced QB Away From Chiefs After Jordan Love Injury

**Packers Encouraged to Sign QB from Chiefs After Jordan Love Injury**

The Green Bay Packers faced a double blow on Friday night, losing 34-29 to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL’s first-ever game in Brazil while also potentially losing quarterback Jordan Love to injury. Love sustained a leg injury during the final drive, which appeared serious enough to raise concerns among fans and analysts. Though early reports indicated Love’s ACL remained intact, his injury has sparked discussions about possible quarterback replacements. CBS Sports writer Jordan Dajani suggested that Green Bay has several viable options, including free agent Ryan Tannehill, Cleveland Browns backup Jameis Winston, and Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Bailey Zappe.

Zappe, who joined the Chiefs’ practice squad in late August, is seen as a potential solution for the Packers. Previously with the New England Patriots, Zappe had a strong rookie season in 2022, temporarily taking over the starting role when Mac Jones was injured.

However, he struggled in his second year, completing 59.9% of his passes for 1,272 yards, six touchdowns, and nine interceptions over ten games. Despite these setbacks, Zappe still has considerable support from NFL fans and analysts alike.

Many fans on social media have echoed Dajani’s suggestion, urging the Packers to sign Zappe from Kansas City’s practice squad. One fan wrote, “Get Bailey Zappe from the Chiefs practice squad asap,” while another shared, “Had a dream Bailey Zappe led the Packers to the Super Bowl.” Others speculated on the extent of Love’s injury, with one fan predicting it was an MCL tear, which could sideline him for up to eight weeks.

If Love’s injury proves to be significant, the Packers will need to act quickly to find a suitable replacement. While Ryan Tannehill and Jameis Winston are experienced options, Zappe could offer a younger, cheaper alternative with potential upside. The Packers would suffer a major setback if Love is sidelined long-term, but bringing in Zappe might help fill the void and keep their season on track. For now, Green Bay will await further updates on Love’s condition, hoping the injury isn’t as serious as feared.
