Good News: Just In Angel Reese Officially Sign New Four-Year Deal And Making Her The Most Paid WNBA Superstar

According to Spotrac, Angel inked a $324,383 four-year contract with the Chicago Sky. In the event that the Sky exercises her fourth-year option, she will make $73,439 in her first year and will rise each season to $93,636 in her fourth. This is only marginally less than Caitlin Clark’s compensation, who was selected first by the Indiana Fever and will reach her maximum of $97,582 in her fourth season.

According to USA Today, Angel does have the chance to receive additional rewards like being named the WNBA Rookie of the Year (with a $5,150 bonus) and being selected for the All-Star game (worth an additional $2,575).

This is obviously very different from Angel’s NBA contemporaries. Spotrac reports that Bilal Coulibaly, the seventh overall pick in the NBA draft last year, has agreed to a $30 million deal with the Washington Wizards. According to The Cut, the top WNBA salary is approximately $240,000, which is less than the lowest-paid NBA player. The majority of WBA players use their off-season play elsewhere to augment their income.
However, Angel will still be paid for his current NIL arrangements, which are now simply referred to as sponsorships. Thus, you can be confident that Angel will continue to make money.

For 2022–2023 season, she had 17 NIL deals.

Yes, a March 2023 Sponsor United article states that Angel has a staggering total of 17 distinct NIL sponsorship arrangements. She came in ninth place among all collegiate athletes for NIL earnings earlier this year.

Prominent brands such as PlayStation, Raising Canes, McDonald’s, Coach, Wingstop, Outback Steakhouse, and Amazon are included in these promotions.
The 2023–24 season saw her bag even more deals.

Angel’s senior year at LSU was spent with sponsorships. Her most recent agreement was to support the One Million Black Women campaign, which raises Black women’s voices among Washington, D.C. politicians, through a partnership with Goldman Sachs. Angel and her mother, former basketball player Angel Webb Reese, are featured in a recently released advertisement.
In the commercial, Angel states, “I owe so much to my mom.” She gave me my self-assurance, work ethic, and dedication to my neighborhood. It’s evident that Black women continue to face obstacles from her age onward. But I think things can change. I’m honored to be collaborating with Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women to ensure that Black women’s voices are heard both locally and nationally.
