Done Deal: Just In Rangers Officially Announce The Signing Of The World Best And Talented Star Into……Read More……..

The Rangers may be adding defenseman Madison Bowey to their camp roster through a professional tryout, as first reported by Rick Dhaliwal and confirmed by Daily Faceoff. D The New York Rangers have signed Madison Bowey to a PTO. — Rick Dhaliwal (@DhaliwalSports) 11 September 2024 Fans of the Rangers may remember Bowey from his two memorable seasons with the Washington Capitals, the team in their division, in 2017 and 2019. After finishing his rookie season with 12 assists in 51 games, he was traded to Detroit by Washington in exchange for defenseman Nick Jensen the following year, when he scored six points in 33 games.

There, Bowey finished his Red Wings career with four more points in 17 games to round off his 2018–19 campaign at 10 points, but he almost quadrupled that total the next season. In 53 games, Bowey recorded a career-high 3 goals and 14 assists for a total of 17 points. Easily the most NHL games he participated in during a season, but that had to be put on hold due to COVID. From then on, Bowey would find it difficult to get into an NHL roster as he has only played in four games, divided between the Vancouver Canucks and the Chicago Blackhawks.

The sixty-seven-year-old, 207-pound former second-round draft pick (53) has played in the KHL for the previous three seasons despite putting up decent numbers in the AHL. He has been traded between three teams throughout that time, with his brief stay with the Red Wings representing his most consistent period of play. Although it’s not shocking that the Rangers would be adding a defenseman to their camp roster, this decision is undoubtedly intriguing. To get a contract this far away from the NHL would be quite the story, but crazier things have definitely happened.
