Done Deal: Just In Raptors Agreed On The Exchange Deal For Another Top Talented Star Big Man Due To.

On Saturday, the Los Angeles Lakers made a desperately needed addition. They signed Christian Koloko, a former Toronto Raptors big man, to replenish their depth after losing Christian Wood to knee surgery, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.

Koloko finds himself in a favourable circumstance. During the 2022–23 season, the former Arizona big man averaged 3.1 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game. That season, he started 19 of the 58 games for the Raptors, despite foul trouble being a problem for him (2.2 fouls in 13.8 minutes). Nevertheless, his tenure in Toronto held great potential.

He was sidelined throughout the full 2023–24 season by an unusual problem. After sustaining a blood clot, Koloko was unable to play any basketball. Not to add, it was almost a life-or-death situation. Koloko was not allowed to touch the court until the problem was fixed, according to the NBA’s Fitness to Play Panel.

The problem of Christian Koloko’s clot was resolved in July. According to NBC Sports, his agent, Calvin Andrews of Klutch Sports, stated that he underwent corrective surgery after medical professionals identified the problem. According to Andrews, Koloko’s ability to play again depends on his being off blood thinners. He was seen in a video working out in fives versus NBA players even over the summer.
