Breaking: Texas Longhorns Hits With Major Setback’s As Another Top Talented Superstar QB Suffers Season Ending Injury And Now Ruled Out Till….

Texas star quarterback Quinn Ewers is considered week-to-week due to an oblique strain and is likely to miss the Longhorns’ next game against Louisiana Monroe, according to an ESPN report on Sunday. The injury, which occurred early in the second quarter of Texas’ 56-7 victory over UTSA, forced Ewers out of the game. Texas, now ranked No. 1, will host Louisiana Monroe this Saturday before beginning SEC play against Mississippi State on Sept. 28. After a bye week, the Longhorns face No. 15 Oklahoma on Oct. 12 and No. 2 Georgia on Oct. 19.

Ewers’ playing status was first reported by Orangebloods.com. During the UTSA game, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian explained that Ewers left the game due to a strained abdomen. Backup quarterback Arch Manning, a highly touted prospect, replaced Ewers and delivered an impressive performance, accounting for five touchdowns—four passing and one rushing. Manning completed 9 of 12 passes for 223 yards. Before exiting, Ewers had completed 14 of 16 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception.

Sarkisian addressed the injury after the game, saying, “Quinn has an oblique strain, an abdomen strain. It remains to be seen the seriousness of that or the length of that, but that’s what it is. We don’t think it’s anything structural or broken—it was an odd play.” He also noted that Ewers’ absence gave Manning a valuable opportunity for playing time and experience.

Last season, Ewers was a standout for the Longhorns, throwing for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions while leading Texas to a Big 12 championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff. His potential absence could have a significant impact on the team’s upcoming games, especially with critical matchups against Oklahoma and Georgia on the horizon. However, Manning’s strong performance provides the team with confidence heading into the next few weeks.
