The LSU Football Injury Report: Just In LSU Tigers Confirm Injury Blow With Another Top Talented Fan Favorite Star RuledOut For The Season

During LSU’s game against USC on Sunday, defensive end and reserve linebacker Princeton Malbrue sustained a “serious” knee injury. A source verified Malbrue tore his meniscus and ACL.
Malbrue will miss the balance of the 2024 season after undergoing knee surgery on Thursday.

For Kyle Parker: (Elbow) Out

Due to a UCL injury, LSU redshirt freshman wide receiver Kyle Parker will miss the team’s second game against the Nicholls State Colonels.
Kelly reports that Parker will likely make a comeback in the upcoming weeks, although he is listed as out this weekend against an in-state opponent.

With Chris Hilton sidelined due to an ankle ailment, LSU turned to Parker, a player who advanced this offseason, to lead the first team.

Kelly stated last week of Parker, “It’s really about this consistent performance level… play in and play out that gives us the trust and confidence that we’re going to get when it’s time to perform.” That’s what Kyle demonstrated for us. “[Parker is] a guy you can trust now that he’s been a lot more reliable as a ball catcher and a perimeter blocker and route runner.” With a guy like Kyle Parker, I don’t think we have to put up with his faults. For us, he is capable of high-level performance.

The goal right now is to recover and return to the field as soon as possible.

Ankle: Chris Hilton is out.

Following his treatment for an ankle bone bruise at the end of training, LSU wide receiver Chris Hilton was unable to play for the Tigers against USC in Week 1. Hilton has missed the last two and a half weeks of action following the injury he sustained during Week 3 of Fall Camp.
“He is sprinting. He’s playing if he were an offensive lineman. However, Kelly stated on Tuesday that “he’s an elite player.” “We’ll watch him throughout the week. Before we send him back out there, I want to make sure he’s fully recovered.”

Hilton was unable to suit up for last Sunday’s game, but Kelly updated the staff on his situation during his weekly appearance on the SEC Teleconference last Wednesday.

Kelly stated on Wednesday, “We had (about) an hour of practice on Monday, and he was working on getting in and out of routes, precision work.” “We’ll move that along quickly to the next stage and assess his status.” He obviously wants to play. I am aware that he is aiming to play on Sunday. We’ll watch how this week unfolds.
Hilton tried out his mobility and improvement last Wednesday at practice with the pads on, but he was unable to participate. Now that he was declared out of Week 2, the focus is on keeping his body ready for Week 3 versus South Carolina.

Garrett Dellinger: Uncertain (head injury)

Garrett Dellinger, an offensive lineman for LSU, is doubtful for Saturday’s home opener versus Nicholls State due to a concussion. Kelly and company will decide whether to start the veteran guard at that point in the game.
Tyree Adams, a redshirt freshman, will start for the first team against the Colonels on Saturday in case Dellinger is unable to play.
In Week 2, LSU will try to avenge their Week 1 loss to the USC Trojans by playing an in-state rival.
