Latest Knicks News: Just In Tom Thibodeau Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Star

The New York Knicks announced on Monday the signing of veterans Marcus Morris and Landry Shamet to Exhibit 9 contracts ahead of their training camp. These non-guaranteed contracts allow both players to participate in training camp without guaranteeing them a spot on the 15-man roster. However, they will be compensated during the camp and receive protection in case of injury.

Morris, entering his 14th NBA season, played 49 games during the 2023-24 season, splitting time between the Philadelphia 76ers and Cleveland Cavaliers. He averaged 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 40.3% from beyond the arc. His experience and three-point shooting ability could be valuable to the Knicks if he performs well in training camp.

Shamet, a six-year NBA veteran, spent last season with the Washington Wizards. He averaged 7.1 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.2 assists, shooting 33.8% from three-point range. Shamet is known for his perimeter shooting and could add depth to the Knicks’ backcourt if he secures a roster spot.

Both Morris and Shamet could be valuable additions to the Knicks, especially considering the team’s struggles with injuries in recent seasons. Morris, with his veteran experience and ability to stretch the floor, could provide reliable bench support, while Shamet’s shooting could offer the Knicks additional offensive options. If they have strong performances during training camp, they could help solidify the Knicks’ roster depth for the upcoming season.
