RB Jaydon Blue (Doubly) For this weekend’s game against ULM, Sarkisian stated that Jaydon Blue, a junior running back, is a “game-time decision”. A few weeks ago, during Texas’s double-digit victory over Michigan on the road, Blue sprained his ankle. Mostly as a precaution, Blue was not allowed to play in the Longhorns’ victory over the UTSA Roadrunners at home last weekend. Tre Wisner, RB (Likely) Tre Wisner, Texas’s sophomore running back, had a “tweak” injury during the team’s victory over UTSA last Saturday. Last Saturday against UTSA, Wisner was kept off the pitch by Sarkisian and the Longhorns staff during the second half.

Christian Clark and RB (Away) True freshman Christian Clark is also sidelined for the entire 2024 season after he sustained a torn Achilles during autumn camp. Both Clark and Baxter have continued to play a significant role for the squad and are optimistic about their recovery procedures before their anticipated comeback in 2025.

QB Quinn Ewers is out. This week’s most significant injury report involving the Longhorns concerns redshirt junior quarterback Quinn Ewers. Ewers needed assistance leaving the field early in the second quarter of last week’s game against UTSA due to an abdominal strain. Ewers had an abdomen injury during the weekend, and his status is currently classified as “week-to-week”. Arch Manning, a redshirt freshman quarterback, will start this weekend’s game against ULM as Ewers heals from an abdominal strain.

In his press conference earlier this week, Sarkisian stated that Ewers will be marked as “questionable” on the injury report for the SEC opener against Mississippi State on September 28 of next week. McDonald, S. Jelani (questionable) Two Texas safeties, true freshman Xavier Filsaime and sophomore Jelani McDonald, were sidelined by various injuries from last week’s victory over UTSA. It appears that Filsaime will be prepared for this weekend’s Longhorns secondary game versus ULM.

McDonald is being described with a status similar to Blue in the sense that he is a “game-time decision”, according to Sarkisian’s press conference earlier this week.

In the first two weeks, McDonald rotated in at safety, taking 30 defensive snaps and 21 snaps on special teams in kick and punt coverage against Colorado State and Michigan.
