Sad News: Just In Texas Longhorns Hit With Another Setbacks As Top Talented Superstar Suffer Devasting Injury And Is Ruled Out Till…

Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers sustained an upper-body injury that forced him to leave the game against UTSA last weekend. During a press conference on September 16, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian provided an update, stating that Ewers is “questionable” for the upcoming game against ULM.

The injury, described as an “oblique strain,” occurred during a non-contact play in the first half of Texas’ dominant 56-7 victory over UTSA at home. Following Ewers’ exit, redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning stepped in and led the offense, accounting for five touchdowns and over 200 passing yards. Ewers had been performing well before the injury, throwing for 185 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception on 14-of-16 completions.

Sarkisian further mentioned that Ewers remains “questionable” for the Week 4 home game against UL-Monroe, and this status is expected to continue as Texas enters SEC play. He explained that when the team releases its first injury report for the SEC opener next Wednesday, Ewers will still likely be listed as questionable. Texas is set to face Mississippi State in its inaugural SEC game on September 28, when the weekly injury reports mandated by the SEC will be required.

Texas does not need to release an injury report for the final non-conference game against ULM this weekend. So far this season, Ewers has completed over 73% of his passes, accumulating 691 yards, eight touchdowns, and two interceptions. Manning, who took over for Ewers, has completed nearly 70% of his passes, throwing for 348 yards and five touchdowns, along with two rushing touchdowns and 60 rushing yards.
