Sad News: Just In Las Vegas Raiders Officially Part Ways With Another Top Experienced Starter Due To…

The New England Patriots have added offensive tackle Jalen McKenzie to their practice squad. McKenzie, 25, originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2022, signing with the Tennessee Titans after playing college football at the University of Southern California (USC). Standing 6-foot-5 and weighing 315 pounds, McKenzie has experience playing both right and left tackle during his time at USC.

After being released by the Titans at the end of the 2022 training camp, McKenzie spent his rookie season on the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad. However, he was once again released at the end of the 2023 training camp and joined the Las Vegas Raiders’ practice squad for the 2023 season. McKenzie’s stint with the Raiders came to an end when the team released him on August 27, 2024.

McKenzie’s versatility and size make him an intriguing addition to the Patriots’ practice squad, providing depth at the offensive tackle position. His time in various NFL practice squads shows his ability to adapt and continue developing his skills, even though he has yet to secure a permanent spot on a 53-man roster. With the Patriots, McKenzie will have another opportunity to improve and potentially earn a call-up to the active roster, should the team need reinforcement on the offensive line during the 2024 season.

The signing of McKenzie reflects the Patriots’ strategy of maintaining a flexible and deep practice squad, especially at key positions like offensive tackle. As the season progresses, McKenzie’s experience and development may prove valuable, particularly if injuries or performance issues arise along the Patriots’ offensive line.
