Breaking: Toronto Raptors Officially Waived Another Top Experienced Superstar Due To…

Murphy (Twitter link) reports that the Raptors released Disu just hours after signing him. Now, twenty players are under contract with them.
Dylan Disu, a free agent forward, has been signed by the Raptors to an Exhibit 10 contract, according to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca (Twitter link).

The 23-year-old Disu started his collegiate career in 2019 at Vanderbilt before moving to Texas in 2021. His initial season with the Longhorns was restricted by knee surgery, but he finally established himself as an important member of the starting lineup, averaging 15.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 25.8 minutes per game across 25 games (20 starts) as a super-senior in 2023–2024. During the previous season, he had a shooting line of.465/.451/.812.

Disu, who was not selected in the June draft, signed up with the Raptors Summer League in July and participated in three games in Las Vegas.

Most likely, the Raptors intend to have Disu eventually sign with the Raptors 905, their G League team. He can receive a bonus of up to $77.5K under his Exhibit 10 contract if he plays for Toronto’s affiliate for at least 60 days. Though two-way contracts can also be made out of Exhibit 10 deals before the season starts, the club does not presently have a two-way position available.

The Raptors now have a full roster of 21 players, but that doesn’t mean they won’t make any more additions before training camp begins on Tuesday.
