Done Deal: Just In Eagles Officially Announce The Signing Of Another Top Talented And Well Experienced WR Superstar.

According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, wide receiver Jalen Reagor is allegedly joining the Los Angeles Chargers practice squad. Reagor, who was cut from the New England Patriots practice squad earlier this month, gets a contract with the Chargers. Reagor participated in 11 games as a player for the Patriots in the 2023 campaign. His last 2023 campaign consisted of just seven receptions totalling 138 yards. In March, Reagor signed a new contract with the Patriots, however he was later cut from both the active roster and the practice squad.

The Philadelphia Eagles, who notably selected Reagor one selection ahead of the Minnesota Vikings, who selected Justin Jefferson, perhaps the best receiver in the league, as a wide receiver, with their first pick. While Jefferson has over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his first four seasons and has previously earned the NFL Offensive Player of the Year award, Reagor is now joining his fourth team and has 937 career receiving yards. Reagor would only play with the Eagles for two seasons, during which time he would total 64 receptions for 695 yards and three receiving touchdowns.

Before the 2022 season, the Eagles moved Reagor to the Vikings; however, in his one and only season with Minnesota, he only finished with eight receptions for 104 yards and a score. He then agreed to a one-season contract with New England. If Reagor is upgraded to the active roster, the Chargers’ receiving group will have an additional member thanks to the reported signing of Reagor. With Joshua Palmer recovering from an injury and wide receiver D.J. Chark on injured reserve, the Chargers’ receiving core is mostly inexperienced and restricted.

Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, two wide receivers, have led the club in receiving thus far. Through three games, McConkey has racked up 10 receptions for 109 yards and one score, while Johnston has 10 receptions for 133 yards and three touchdowns. Johnston is in his second season, while McConkey is a rookie. Both players lack experience. Through the first three weeks of the season, the Chargers have mostly depended on their running offence. This strategy has helped them to a 2-0 start, as J.K. Dobbins has rushed for over 100 yards in each of the team’s first two games. In the face of a stout Steelers run defence, their run offence was not as effective, and the Chargers will probably need to improve their passing game moving forward.
