Done Deal: Steelers Officially Announce The Signing Of Another Top Talented Well Experienced 24 year Old Cornerbacks NFL Star.

James Pierre, a cornerback with the Pittsburgh Steelers, has been promoted to the active roster, per an agent’s report to Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston. Pierre was a standout gunner with the Steelers and was just added to the team’s practice squad. Against the Los Angeles Chargers, he forced two fair catches, maintaining the Steelers’ net yardage per punt at more than fifty yards. Though he did play some snaps at outside cornerback following the injuries to Cory Trice and Donte Jackson, Pittsburgh brought him back specifically for that purpose. There are now 12 defensive backs, including six cornerbacks, on the Steelers’ active roster. Pierre was involved in helping on special teams, while Darius Rush remained inactive.

Pierre is close to returning to his position as an outside cornerback given that Trice is injured and Jackson is still dealing with some health issues. As the starting quarterbacks, Joey Porter Jr. and Jackson have performed admirably, and in Week 2, Trice picked up his first career interception against the Denver Broncos. Pierre provides the Steelers with a seasoned presence that they can rely on in an emergency.
