Breaking: Winnipeg blue bomber Officially Part Ways With Another Top Experienced Fans Favorite Superstar Due To

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have finalized their roster for the 2024 regular season, making significant moves ahead of their campaign. The team released 29 players and added 12 others to their practice squad as they prepare for another run at the Grey Cup. Over the past four seasons, the Blue Bombers have been one of the CFL’s top teams, largely due to the roster depth they’ve built, which has fueled their championship success.

Among the most notable cuts was former NFL defensive lineman Chauncey Rivers. Rivers, who played two seasons in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens and Green Bay Packers, appeared in five games and recorded two tackles. Despite his past experience, he didn’t make the final roster.

Another standout player from the preseason, running back Chris Smith, delivered an impressive 109-yard punt return touchdown during Winnipeg’s 31-10 preseason loss to the Calgary Stampeders. However, despite his strong performance, Smith was also among those released.

Additionally, quarterback Darren Grainger, who had a successful collegiate career at Georgia State and Furman, did not make the final cut. Grainger threw for 8,182 yards and 72 touchdowns while rushing for 2,465 yards and 24 touchdowns over five seasons, but his efforts weren’t enough to secure a spot on the Blue Bombers’ roster.

The Blue Bombers are set to kick off their season with a highly anticipated rematch of last year’s Grey Cup final against the defending champions, the Montreal Alouettes, on Thursday night. With their roster now complete, Winnipeg is ready to pursue another strong season and compete for the championship once again.
