The news that Davante Adams has asked to be traded has put the Las Vegas Raiders in a challenging position. The team will be very thin at wide receiver if they trade him because he is their greatest offensive player. The Raiders might be able to accommodate Adams’ request while maintaining their strength at wide receiver, though. While Antonio Pierce was an assistant coach at Arizona State, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk played for the San Francisco 49ers. There may be a shared interest in getting back together because the two get along well. Mike Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle suggested a straight trade between the two teams.
“Speaking of shopping, it’s now clear that the Raiders are preparing to part with Adams, a three-time All-Pro who has reportedly requested a trade,” Silver wrote in an October 2 column. The Jets, Saints, Bills, and Steelers are among the teams that have been listed as potential suitors; nevertheless, I respectfully propose that another team be added to the mix.
“Hear me out: Send Aiyuk, a former Reno high school standout, back to the Silver State and bring the kid from East Palo Alto home dressed in a scarlet and gold uniform.” The Raiders could acquire a younger wide receiver while Adams could play for a Super Bowl contender with a potent offence. Contracts are the largest barrier because Adams needs a new one and Aiyuk recently inked a $120 million deal. Although the financial details may be challenging to determine, the 49ers and Raiders both have a large amount of salary cap room available.
