The Miami Dolphins wasted no time claiming Bowser, seemingly anticipating his release. Miami is dealing with its own pass-rushing issues, particularly with Jaelan Phillips sidelined due to injury, making Bowser a potential solution. However, Bowser’s ability to contribute remains in question. He has been far from his 2021 self, struggling with both Achilles and knee injuries. Additionally, his tackling has been problematic, missing over 21 percent of his tackle attempts in 2021 and 2022, a concern for any team hoping to improve its defense.
Seattle’s decision to move on from Bowser could signal positive news for their own roster. It may indicate that players like Uchenna Nwosu or Boye Mafe are close to returning from injury, making Bowser expendable. Despite his release, Bowser’s immediate pickup by Miami highlights the Dolphins’ need for reinforcements on defense as they try to bolster their pass rush with Phillips out.
