Free agent shooting guard Terence Davis is set to sign an Exhibit 10 contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, according to a report by Eric Nehm of The Athletic. Davis, who is aiming to make his return to the NBA, played three games in the G League last season with the Rip City Remix before suffering a season-ending Achilles injury. He had a workout with the Bucks in August.
Davis, 27, last appeared in the NBA during the 2022-23 season with the Sacramento Kings. In 64 games with the Kings, he averaged 6.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. Known for his ability to provide scoring off the bench, Davis has spent four seasons in the NBA, beginning his career with the Toronto Raptors in 2019. He was traded to the Kings at the 2021 trade deadline, where he continued his role as a solid bench contributor.
The Bucks already have 14 players on fully guaranteed contracts for the upcoming season, along with Andre Jackson, who has a partial guarantee of $946,000 on his $1.89 million deal. This makes it unlikely that Davis will secure a spot on Milwaukee’s regular-season roster. However, his Exhibit 10 deal provides an opportunity to showcase his skills during training camp. If he is waived but spends at least 60 days with the Wisconsin Herd, Milwaukee’s G League affiliate, he will be eligible for a bonus of up to $77,500.
Currently, the Bucks have 20 players in training camp, which is one player short of the offseason limit, allowing them to sign Davis without needing to make any additional roster moves.
In summary, Terence Davis will join the Bucks on an Exhibit 10 contract, hoping to make a comeback to the NBA after an injury-shortened season. Although the odds of him earning a roster spot are slim, he could still contribute to Milwaukee’s G League team, potentially positioning himself for a future opportunity in the NBA.
