Kelly Krauskopf is returning to the Indiana Fever as the franchise’s president of basketball and business operations. Krauskopf, who previously led the Fever for its first 18 seasons, helped the team win a WNBA championship in 2012. Since 2018, she had been serving as the Indiana Pacers’ assistant general manager.
During a press conference, Krauskopf expressed her excitement about rejoining the Fever. “Anytime you’re asked to return to a place that you helped build, it’s special,” she said.
In her new role, Krauskopf will guide the team through an important phase, as they prepare for their second season with standout player Caitlin Clark. Additionally, several key players, including top scorer Kelsey Mitchell, are set to enter free agency.
Krauskopf emphasized the importance of supporting Mitchell’s leadership, stating, “The veteran leadership Kelsey provided is crucial, and we need to add to that.”
Beyond improving the team’s on-court performance, Krauskopf aims to enhance the Fever’s presence in the broader sports landscape. She highlighted the team’s potential with stars like Clark and Aliyah Boston, saying, “We have a foundational player in Caitlin Clark and Boston, and we’re going to continue building. I want this team to be a leader nationally and develop into an enduring brand.”
Her return brings optimism for both the team’s performance and its future impact within the WNBA.
