On Friday, the Bengals waived Carter, a third-round pick from the 2022 NFL Draft out of Florida. Carter had been a regular part of the Bengals’ defense this season, playing in all four games and starting two. He recorded nine tackles and a half-sack in those appearances. The team may attempt to sign him to the practice squad if he clears waivers, indicating they are not entirely done with the young defensive lineman.
Meanwhile, Murphy and Jackson are set to make their returns after recovering from knee injuries that landed them on injured reserve. Murphy, who has been sidelined since August 27, and Jackson, who was placed on IR on August 29, both resumed practicing earlier in the week and have now been activated to the 53-man roster. Their return comes at a crucial time for the Bengals, as they look to strengthen their defense in a game that could prove vital to their playoff hopes.
Myles Murphy, the Bengals’ first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, is expected to play a key role in Cincinnati’s pass rush.
