Latest Canes News: Just In Miami Hurricanes Officially De-Commits Another Top Talented Star

After four-star wide receiver de-committed from Miami, the Hurricanes quickly shifted focus and flipped another top prospect, Joshua Moore, from Florida. On Tuesday, Miami secured a commitment from Moore, a four-star wide receiver from Pembroke Pines, West Broward. Standing at 6’4″ and 205 pounds, Moore brings much-needed size to Miami’s future receiving corps. He is the second wide receiver in Miami’s 2025 class, joining three-star WR Daylyn Upshaw.

Moore is ranked as the 168th overall prospect, the 17th WR, and the 26th player in Florida for the 2025 class. So far this season, he has recorded 32 receptions for 510 yards and five touchdowns. In total, Moore has accumulated 100 receptions for 1,869 yards and 20 touchdowns over his high school career.

With Moore’s commitment, Miami now has 22 pledges in its 2025 class, which ranks 12th nationally according to 247Sports’ composite rankings. Moore and Upshaw will join Miami’s 2024 signees, including four-star WRs Ny Carr, Chance Robinson, and Joshisa Trader, in future lineups. With players like Jacolby George and Xavier Restrepo entering their final seasons, Moore and Upshaw will have opportunities to make an impact.

Miami is expected to continue seeking additional wide receivers for its 2025 class, either through further recruiting or the transfer portal. Currently, Sam Brown, Isaiah Horton, RayRay Joseph, and Shermar Kirk remain on the roster with eligibility beyond 2024.

Moore had previously committed to Florida in June but flipped after multiple visits to Coral Gables. His switch pushed Miami’s recruiting class ranking higher, while Florida dropped to 37th nationally. Florida State, which had also pursued Moore, now holds the 34th-ranked 2025 class.
