Breaking: Boston Bruins Officially Agree Deal To Trade Another Top Experienced Superstar To Rivals In A Trade Worth

The Boston Bruins may be considering a trade involving one of their goaltenders. Joonas Korpisalo was brought in as a backup plan during Jeremy Swayman’s contract dispute with the team. However, Korpisalo’s stats from last season— a 3.27 goals-against average (GAA) and a .890 save percentage—suggest he’s not a strong primary goalie. Despite this, Korpisalo was given the start in the Bruins’ season opener, where he allowed six goals on 35 shots.

Although his performance was underwhelming, head coach Jim Montgomery defended Korpisalo, saying the real issue was the team’s defense.

Montgomery pointed out that the defense allowed four easy goals and Korpisalo made several key saves on breakaways, emphasizing that the goalie wasn’t to blame for the loss.

According to a report by Bruins Insider, Korpisalo is seen as a work in progress by the team’s goalie coach, Bob Essensa. The Bruins hope to develop him further, but if he continues to struggle, they may need to consider trading him and finding a more reliable backup.

Fortunately for Boston, Swayman is back, which solidifies their goaltending situation. However, if the Bruins want to accumulate more wins during the season, Korpisalo’s performances may not be enough.
