BREAKING: Just In Canadiens Unexpectedly Placed Two Top Super Star Players On Waivers Due To.

On Sunday, the Montreal Canadiens’ Alex Barré-Boulet and the Detroit Red Wings’ Ville Husso made a few moves on the waiver wire. When the NHL season’s first week draws to a close on Sunday, some teams are clearing space on their rosters for players who are either coming back from injury, have been called up from the minor leagues, or just don’t have a position for that particular player. Two names were posted to the NHL’s waiver wire on Sunday, and more names are anticipated later in the day.

Since joining the St. Louis Blues in May 2016, Husso has been an extremely consistent player in the NHL. He recorded a 34-13-7 record, 2.56 GAA, and.919 SV% while with the Blues, establishing himself as a reliable and consistent backup behind Jake Allen and Jordan Binnington. In 2021–2022, Husso even outperformed Binnington in terms of record and stats. After being traded to Detroit during the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Husso signed an extension shortly after, and he played decently for the Red Wings in his first season, going 26-22-7 with a 3.11 GAA and.896 SV%. Husso didn’t have much better numbers the previous season either.

Husso is being waived to create room for a Grand Rapids call-up after Christian Fischer went down with an injury. Detroit will save $1.15M in cap space if Husso is assigned to Grand Rapids or claimed by another team.

Alex Barré-Boulet – Montreal Canadiens

Despite his brilliance and his explosive play in the AHL, Alex Barré-Boulet, who was born in Montmagny, Quebec, a few hours outside of Montreal, has failed to establish himself in the NHL. Throughout his career, Barré-Boulet has skated in just 68 games for the Seattle Kraken, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Montreal Canadiens, contributing 12 goals and six assists. This is a long cry from his AHL days, when he scored 84 points in 2022–2023 and 63 points in 2021–2022. Getting a taste with the Canadiens this season, he appeared in two games and finished with a -2 +/-, but he looked good in his little time on the ice.

Being shipped off to Laval isn’t the end of the world for Alex Barré-Boulet, and given his track record for scoring a bunch in the AHL, he could play himself back into a call-up very soon.

As soon as more waiver wire transactions come out, we here at Hockey Patrol will update you on any movement!
