Done Deal: Just In Toronto Maple Leafs Officially Announced The Signing $49 Million Forward

A recent trade proposal suggests the **Toronto Maple Leafs** could re-acquire ** in a blockbuster deal, according to a user-generated trade on **PuckPedia’s PuckGM tool**. Kadri, a fan-favorite and former Maple Leafs player, is currently in the third year of a seven-year, $49 million contract with the **Calgary Flames**.

The trade proposal involves the **Maple Leafs** sending **Nick Robertson**, **David Kampf**, **Timothy Liljegren**, and two future second-round draft picks (2027 and 2028) to the **Flames** in exchange for Kadri. This potential deal would bring Kadri back to Toronto, where he played from 2009 to 2019, to bolster their offense. Kadri, known for his scoring ability, tallied 29 goals and 46 assists in 82 games last season with the Flames.

The trade package includes **Robertson**, who requested a trade from the Maple Leafs earlier this year but signed a one-year, $875,000 deal to stay with the team. He could help Calgary replace some of Kadri’s offensive production. **Kampf**, who is in the second year of his four-year, $9.6 million deal, currently serves as Toronto’s fourth-line center and plays a key defensive role. **Liljegren**, a former first-round pick, has been scratched for the start of the 2024-25 season, and although he signed a two-year, $6 million extension, he may be looking for a fresh start.

Although Kadri’s name has been involved in trade rumors, the forward expressed his desire to stay in Calgary ahead of the 2024-25 season. Kadri stated, “I love the city. I love the organization,” while urging reporters to hold off on trade speculation. However, Kadri would be a valuable asset to any team seeking a Stanley Cup-winning player with his experience and physicality.

Meanwhile, Liljegren’s situation remains uncertain. NHL insider **Elliotte Friedman** reported that the **Maple Leafs** have given Liljegren permission to explore potential trades. Despite this, the team insists there is still a place for him in Toronto. Liljegren, drafted 17th overall in 2017, has accumulated 65 points in his 196 NHL games.
