Good News: Patrik Allvin Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Superstar To Bolster Squad Depth After Suffering Defeat To Lightening

The Vancouver Canucks re-claimed goaltender off waivers on Monday, according to Chris Johnston of The Athletic. Patera had a brief stint with the Boston Bruins after they claimed him to provide additional depth while Jeremy Swayman remained unsigned. However, once Swayman secured a new contract, Boston no longer needed Patera’s services, allowing Vancouver to reacquire him.

The Canucks originally placed Patera on waivers to send him to their AHL affiliate, Abbotsford, and that remains the plan now. Patera will report to Abbotsford for the start of the 2024-25 season. Although his time with Boston was short, the move back to Vancouver gives him a familiar environment where he can continue his development.

Patera is expected to play a key role for Abbotsford in the upcoming season, where he will have the opportunity to refine his skills in hopes of securing a more permanent NHL role in the future. This move represents a second chance for Patera to solidify his place within the Canucks’ system.
