Latest Oilers News: Just In Edmonton Oilers Official Waive Another Top Veteran Due To…

Golden Knights’ Star has been assigned to the AHL’s Henderson team after the Vegas Golden Knights were the only team to submit a waiver claim for him, according to PuckPedia.

Lavoie has had a busy week, moving back and forth between the Edmonton Oilers and the Vegas Golden Knights through the waiver process. On Wednesday, the Oilers claimed him off waivers, but he couldn’t be sent to the minors as another team also put in a claim.

However, after Edmonton waived him again on Thursday, only the Golden Knights submitted a claim for him on Friday. As a result, Lavoie is now set to play for the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights.

This back-and-forth situation highlights the complexities of the waiver system, as multiple teams showing interest can prevent players from being immediately assigned to the minors. Now that Lavoie is with the Golden Knights’ affiliate, he’ll look to continue his development in the AHL.
